Most Commonly Asked Questions About Our Products
MONEY CANDLE QUESTIONS
IS THERE REALLY MONEY IN EACH "MONEY cANDLE?"
Yes, money is inside of each of our money candles! If we sell candles without the money inside we will indicate such and mark it very clearly on our website.
HOW IS THE MONEY PROTECTED FROM THE CANDLE WICK FLAME?
The money inserted into our money candles during the curing process is either a dollar coin and or a pill shaped fireproof aluminum money capsule which will contain a $5, $10, $20, $50 or $100 bill inside. and or dollar coin(s) will be located anywhere from near the top of the candle to the bottom near the end of the wick! So, money location is random depending upon when it was inserted in the candle curing process.
where is the money located in the candle?
The money, be it the dollar coin(s) and or money bill inside of a metal pill capsule, will be located anywhere from under the actual lid, on Jar and Tin candles and or actually embedded in the wax. That is, the money (be it coins and or money inside the metal pill) could be located near the top of the candle, the middle and or the bottom near the end of the wick! The bottom line, the money location is random depending upon when it was inserted in the candle during the curing process but rest assured it's in the candle somewhere. So, be patient and enjoy the great candle scents until you see the money appear as your awesome candle burns down. Click Here for additional details.
What are our candles made of?
Our Money Candles are made from 100% paraffin wax, bees wax, or palm wax. However, we have been asked about Soy wax and when and if we add them to our line-up it will be noted as such.
what are my odds of winning larger bills in the money candles?
IMPORTANT NOTE: Keep in mind that our high quality Money Candle & Soap products are merely a fun, novelty item! Even though we have a set money insertion formula we use during production to ensure fairness and consistency, We DO NOT give odds as we are NOT a lottery as Private lotteries are illegal. Monies that are put in our Money Candle & Soap products are put into the cards TOTALLY at random, so there are no odds of "winning" once again, just to be crystal clear! The only guarantee we give you is that there is a minimum of at least a $2 bill in each and every Money Candle & Soap product with the chance to get more than that $2 bill!

OUR Handmade Soap vs Store Bought Soap; what's the difference?
Did you realize there was a major difference between store bought soaps and handmade soaps? Well there is, let us explain!
Look at the label on your bar of commercial soap. Is it called "soap" on the label, or is it a “beauty bar,” “cleansing bar,” or “deodorizing bar?” If it does not say "soap" then it is not really soap. Many commercial brands are not called soap because by law they cannot be - they are DETERGENTS.
Typical store bought or “commercial” soaps that may be labeled as “natural” are actually detergents that include chemical hardeners, foaming agents and artificial fragrances. That's right, many of the brand-name "soaps" are not soaps at all, but rather just detergent bars. These store-bought soaps have had all of the glycerin removed and placed into additional products such as lotions and creams. The reason is instead of buying one product that will clean AND moisturize, (such as handmade soap) a consumer now has to buy two products to serve the same purpose, thus, an increase in profit for the company. That's right, many of the big soap making companies place a higher priority on profit rather than the quality of their soap and it's the consumer that suffers.
Natural Handmade soaps, including ours, contain glycerin which is a natural skin emollient (skin softener) that attracts water from the surrounding air which helps maintain moisture in the skin throughout the day.
Here at Frog Soapworks, we make our handmade soap bars the old-fashioned cold process way. Cold process soaps contain lye which is naturally removed during the soap making process. Our soaps also contain essential oils or fragrance oils that are gentle on your skin, as well as natural exfoliates such as oatmeal, leaves, and sea salt.
In summary, detergent is great when you are cleaning laundry or dishes, but NOT when you are cleaning your skin! So, why not order a premium handmade bar or two of our soap and do your skin a favor!

How long will our soap last?
How long a bar will last obviously depends on how many people are using it and how often you bath or shower. For one person showering every day, a well drained bar should last at about two to three weeks under average daily use.
Another factor is water type, soft or hard water, you have. So, to maximize the life of your soap, keep it in a well-drained soap dish, like our wood soap dishes which have deep ridges which are perfect for keeping your all natural handcrafted soap dry between uses.

- Don't let your soap sit in water.
- Store soap on a well drained soap dish.
- Allow soap plenty of fresh air to dry between uses.
- Never place soap where shower water can hit it.
- if your bar ever gets waterlogged and becomes gooey, simply set it on a draining soap dish for a few days and let it dry out thoroughly.
why does natural soap "SWEAT" IN HUMID WEATHER?
A quality bar of handmade soap will often "sweat" in humid weather due to the high content of natural humectants, like glycerin, which absorbs moisture from its surroundings.
When natural soap sits out in humid conditions, the glycerin in the soap will draw the moisture out of the air and onto the soap. So the sweating is actually moisture from the air that the glycerin attracts, not moisture coming from inside the soap. The more humid the environment and the more humectants in the soap, the more likely you'll experience this phenomenon. There is nothing wrong with your soap, it's just the glycerin and other natural humectants doing their job.
Please understand that when you receive your soaps during humid weather conditions, some of the soaps and wrappers may be damp or wrinkled from the natural "sweat" of the soaps. There is nothing wrong with your soap and it is not melting, it's just the glycerin and other natural humectants doing their job.

do our handmade soap bars have a definite shelf life?
Well, YES and NO!
Just like a fine wine, Frog Soapworks handmade soaps get better with age. Left to cure for several months, additional moisture will evaporate out of our already cured soaps and they will become slightly smaller, harder, longer lasting and more mild. However, as our soap bars age, some of the natural scent and color, especially on the surface, may fade.
Exposure to air promotes hardening of our soap and contributes to longer lasting quality. Soap bars should be left unwrapped or wrapped in breathable materials. Never store your soap in closed containers, like plastic containers with lids, or tight wrappers because humid conditions can prevent the evaporation of moisture. So, store your natural handmade Frog Soapworks bars in a dry, cool place away from excessive heat and humidity.
The best solution? Simple, we recommend that you use our shower/bath ready cured soap bars when you receive them. Why wait? Your skin will thank you and when your bars are all gone, just order more!

do we use animal fats in our products?
NO! None of our soaps are made from Tallow or animal fats. However, a few of our soap bars contain Goat's Milk and Greek Yogurt (noted in their descriptions), which contain animal byproducts that are nourishing and moisturizing. All of the other oils we use in our soap bars are vegetable based oils.
Our products are never tested on animals (except our human volunteers). At Frog Soapworks, we provide a full list of ingredients for each of our products. In this way you can make an informed choice about a product that is right for your lifestyle.

Are our soaps and skin care products allergy free?
We test all of our products on ourselves, family and friends who are happy to volunteer.
Although our products are made of natural ingredients, people and or pets can be allergic to natural ingredients such as plants, nuts and oils. An ingredient that is very mild and soothing for one person can be an allergen for another!
There is no soap or cosmetic product in this world that is truly "allergy-free" for everyone! Remember, "all-natural" does not mean "allergy-free." Natural plant essential oils may still cause skin irritation or reactions in certain individuals.
Each product description on our website includes a complete list of ingredients. So, please read through all ingredients listed before purchasing. Once purchase, in case you are in doubt do an "allergy patch test" for reactions or sensitivities.
People with severe allergies--please note: If you have severe anaphylactic type reactions to ANY of the ingredients we use please do not buy our products. Our soap shop is kept meticulously clean and all soaps/shampoos are cured in separate containers. But we cannot guarantee that one soap did not touch another.

Do you use lye to make your soap? Won't it harm my skin?
Yes, we do use lye (sodium hydroxide) to make Frog Soaprworks soap! NO lye.......NO soap! All real soap is made with lye. Any skin or hair cleaning product made without sodium hydroxide is not soap, it's detergent.
So, is there lye in a bar of Frog Soapworks soap or shampoo? NO, once the process of saponification is complete, the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. So, there is no lye present in the finished bars of soap or shampoo that we sell. Again, while real soap like ours must be made with lye, no lye remains in our finished product after saponification.

What is the difference between fragrance oil & essential oil?
Essential oils are extracted from roots, flowers, leaves, fruits, etc...of various plants found in nature. They are used in aromatherapy, herbal medicine, cosmetics, etc..... These oils are generally much more expensive than fragrance oils which reflects in the price of the products they are used in.
A fragrance oil is a combination of synthetic, absolutes, fixatives & essential oils to achieve a fragrance not found in nature ie: your favorite cologne or perfume blends.

the benefits of natural soaps
Our soaps are made from natural oils and butters which makes them perfect for sensitive skin. The main ingredients used in our handmade cold processed soap bars are Olive oil, Coconut oil, Corn Oil, Soybean Oil, Hemp Oil and Organic Shea Butter.
In mass produced "commercial soaps" the natural glycerin is removed to produce a harder longer lasting bar, but in our handmade soaps the glycerin is maintained.
People with sensitive skin find that glycerin is gentle on their complexion. Frog Soapwork soaps dissolves quickly in water, making it easy to wash off and it doesn't leave behind a filmy residue as you find in heavier soaps that are made with animal fats.
Although people who suffer from skin disorders, such as eczema & psoriasis can help relieve the symptoms by washing with handmade soap, Frog Soapworks claims no medicinal benefits to anyone that uses our soaps.
However, by using natural vegetable oils in our soap recipes we know our soap bars are superior in texture, moisturizing properties and cleaning ability than lower cost commercially manufactured "detergent" bars on the market. Yes, the chemicals & detergents used by commercial manufactures will clean your skin, but they will also remover the natural oils and dry the skin.

what does it mean to be gmo free?
GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism. They are commonly plants that have been genetically modified to have certain traits such as drought or chemical resistance. We do not use any GMO ingredients in any of our products.
Is the soap fully cured when I get it?
Yes. The soap is fully cured before we ship it and it ready to be used upon receipt. The freshest of soaps will still retain some moisture for several weeks and may feel soft as it continues to harden.
